Product Description – Sophisticated foam and ventilation system The Dissident 2 from Specialized is a very lightweight, excellently ventilated downhill helmet that has a sophisticated impact protection system with MIPS technology. Under the carbon shell and the polycarbonate layer, there are EPS inserts in five places. This strategic placement of foam with varying densities ensures optimal energy absorption in the event of an impact while keeping the weight very low. The movable intermediate layer that dissipates rotational forces, known from MIPS helmets, is designed as the MIPS Evolve Solution. This means it has been suspended from special fabric pockets to prevent creaking that could disrupt your concentration on the trail. To keep your head cool in racing conditions, the Dissident 2 has a large air intake behind the visor and other vents that allow warm air to escape. This Inside-Out Principle leads to a constant circulation and prevents overheating. The helmet has been equipped with antimicrobial padding and a secure D-ring closure.
