Bei Kool Stop haben Sie die Wahl zwischen organischen und gesinterten Scheibenbremsbelägen.  Gesinterte Scheibenbremsbeläge sind darauf ausgelegt, höchste Leistung unter extremen Bedingungen wie XC, DH, Trial und Slalom zu gewährleisten. Diese Pads haben eine kurze Einlaufzeit, bevor sie ihre maximale Leistung erreichen.  Organische Scheibenbremsbeläge werden nahezu metallfrei hergestellt und mit Kunstharz gebunden. Die Beläge enthalten geringe Mengen an Metallpartikeln, da diese die Bremseigenschaften verbessern. Dennoch sind die Pads größtenteils organisch, man könnte auch sagen, sie sind halbmetallisch. Organische Scheibenbremsbeläge haben auf Dauer eine hohe Bremsleistung und sind sehr scheibenschonend. Die organischen Scheibenbremsbeläge von Kool Stop sind auch mit Aluminiumhalterung erhältlich.
