Roan is a big, cool, friendly Frisian. He is very happy on his stable in Friesland, with his owner Dieuwertje. Together they make wonderful outdoor rides and they are fairly successful in dressage competitions. But if Dieuwertje comes in the stable one day, Ran's world collapses. Dieuwertjes Mother is lost her job and they can no longer pay Roan. To his great sorrow he must be sold. His new boss is very different from Dieuwertje.
